Forum: Any public meeting place for open
discussion.
Panel: A group of people gathered to plan
or discuss an issue, judge a contest, or act as
a team.
Paper Discussion: An informal talk on
a paper, followed by a question-answer session
and open discussion.
Simulation Exercise: The act or process
of simulating, an imitation of a real life event
or problem and the method by which to solve it.
Conferencing: A meeting for consultation
or discussion.
Keynote: A speech with an underlying theme
or general tone, outlining the issues that are
to be considered.
Cluster Group Meeting: A group meeting
that is divided into smaller groups in order to
discuss topics on a more personal level.
Institute: A short, intensive workshop
or seminar on one specific topic.
Networking Session Facilitator: An individual
who provides guidance, order and assistance to
participating members of a seminar or conference.
Round Table Discussion: A conference or
discussion with several different participants.
Satellite: A meeting conducted away from
the primary source (e.g. -- a meeting conducted
via the internet).
Workshop: A seminar, discussion group,
or the like that emphasizes the exchange of ideas
and the demonstration and application of techniques,
skills, etc.
Seminar: Any meeting for exchanging information
and holding discussions.
Lecture: A speech read or delivered before
an audience or class for instruction or to set
forth some subject.
Discussion: An act or instance of discussing,
considering the examination by argument or comment.
